Dronninglunden: A Cornerstone of Bjørvika
Centrally located in Bjørvika, near the bustling Stasjonsallmenningen, Dronninglunden is a key component of Oslo's vibrant new district. This revitalized area, nestled close to the Oslo Fjord, features a mix of housing, offices, public squares and cultural amenities.
As a semi-open square facing southwest, Dronninglunden enjoys abundant sunlight and views. Its design encourages urban activity, with shops and hospitality venues lining its street-level facades along Stasjonsallmenningen, Eufemias gate, and Wismargata.
LOF Arkitekter sought to create a timeless architectural design that balances both residential and urban functions. The building's exterior features light, warm limestone walls and recessed floors clad in oak paneling. A rhythmic facade along Dronning Eufemias gate adds a playful element to the neighborhood.
The project offers a diverse range of housing options, including 138 apartments ranging from 40 to 174 square meters. By incorporating active commercial spaces on the lower floors, Dronninglunden contributes to the vibrant city life of Bjørvika.
In recognition of its architectural merit, Dronninglunden was shortlisted for the Oslo City Architecture Award in 2021.
