The new Amphitheatre is located on the ground floor of the doValue Headquarters Building in Moschato, in an area of 500sq.m. approximately.
The irregular shape of the part of the building that was allocated for the project, called for a triangular shaped hall with windows on its two main sides, looking outside. Two entrances and a control room are placed on the third side of the hall, and are flanked by a cloak room and a store room on either side. The large amphitheater which can host 200 persons can be divided down the middle by a movable sound insulating partition, thus creating two similar sized conference rooms.
The existing raised access floor is covered by rectangular carpet tiles in a herring bone pattern, and the walls are mainly clad with timber battened sound absorbing panels.
The sound absorbing panels are also covering part of the ceiling between the windows while the rest of the ceiling is by and large constructed by rectangular acoustic panels with linear lighting between them. The rest of the ceiling is plain and perforated gypsum board, in order to meet the sound absorption requirements.
The triangular lobby of the amphitheater is dominated by two wooden seaters with battens to match the pattern of the main hall panel cladding, and linear lighting on the walls, the ceiling and behind the seater back rest. Here the floor is also covered in carpet tiles and the ceiling is perforated gypsum board with rockwool behind it for sound absorption.
The amphitheater is served by a kitchenette-pantry, as well as a set of restrooms for the visitors as well as the employees. The amphitheater overspills on a linear yard which was covered with composite wooden deck planks and where planting was introduced to enhance the quality of the space.
