Project Description
Home is a place to return to, we always design urban houses with sustainability criteria, a place that homeowners always want to live in. The design process, therefore, requires a very frequent interaction between the homeowner, the architect and the construction contractor.
The house is built on a land of 4.6m x 12.5m, with a house part of 4.6m x 10.5m, in a small alley in Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the residence of three siblings, young people who both live and work in the most populous city in Vietnam.
Although located in an area of high construction density, small alley, we still take the criteria of green trees and natural light and ventilation when designing this house. Thanks to that, the house is really a place worth living for young people. The ground floor is designed with a multi-purpose space including a common living room, kitchen, dining table, making the ground floor space more spacious. The stairs are located at the end of the house in combination with the corridor, the ventilation brick array, making the house always have natural light and ventilation. In addition, because the area is quite narrow, we designed the upper stairs with perforated iron sheets, making good use of natural light down to the areas below. Two floors with 3 bedrooms and 1 home office space, the function rooms all have a lot of light.
The façade of the house is designed in double skins, one layer of aluminum and glass doors and an steel facade, both to protect the house, and to create a small fresh green space for the two front rooms. The house is not only a place to live, but also a place to work from home, and a place to enjoy life, which is probably the sustainable trend for urban homes.
