As a part of the new traffi c plan for the High Tech Campus, The City of Eindhoven commissioned DHV to produce a design for two road bridges and two bicycle bridges. The ecological characteristics of the Dommel valley played a signifi cant part in the design. A decision was made to construct four high, narrow bridges to ensure that the spaces between and underneath the structures would receive plenty of light and air. The balustrades of the road bridges are clad with corten steel and reduce noise and headlight glare from traffi c. In contrast, the bicycle bridges were entirely executed in aluminum with an open structure that faces the water, offering a magnifi cent view of the Dommel valley.
