The area between the cathedral and the “Römer” square in Frankfurt’s old town was newly developed in 2018. Instead of a large scale, the aim is to achieve a “renaissance” of the medieval structures. The design plan and the building's volume are characterised by an architectural language of datable timelessness. The façade motifs are familiar and drawn from the repertoire of a centuries-old, urban housing tradition, which is then subtly interpreted and nuanced.
