As a design office we were having the idea of a mobile office for a long time. So we bought an old caravan. But as we didn't have the time to design it, the caravan staid in my back yard for 2 years. After a while we were thinking to do something during Milan Design Week. We had a lot of work that time, so the ideal solution was to move our office to Milan. So we started designing the caravan.
It had to be mutlifunctional, a blanc canvas. A place where we can do whatever we want, whatever we want. We teamed up with some partners, who could deliver or produce all the parts we needed.
As the construction started we were almost every day onsite to explore the progress. Even during that process we changed some details to match the caravan perfectly to our needs.
We used light weight plywood, that is used to in the aviation. The walls got covered by perforated by panels to carry the plywood boxes.
The ceiling is covered with a light emitting stretched ceiling.
It has :
- a couch
- a bed
- meeting table for up to 6 people
- fridge (that can contain +- 150 beers)
- storage room underneath
- different lighting options : reading lights, work light above the desk, outdoor lights
- storage boxes fixed to the walls
""#dojowheels is a mobile training facility or dojo as a working tool, which is a perfect reflection of our vision on working (together). It can easily change its setup to offer the user the most pratique surrounding. The flat surface acts as a bed, couch and table with storage available underneath""
