Over the years, we have completed various self-built projects, including residential buildings, guesthouses, hotels, and restaurants. We firmly believe that architecture exists for the users and for different forms of life.
One day, they approached us and shared their dreams. Both of them were pet lovers. Xiao Bai wanted to create a pet hotel, while Vicky wanted to operate a pet restaurant. So we suggested combining these two functions to create an unprecedented hotel where pets and people can dine, play, and stay together. Additionally, we proposed incorporating pet grooming facilities, a pet store, and a swimming pool. With this vision in mind, we embarked on the journey to fulfill their dreams.
Since Xiao Bai had a vacant piece of land in Kaohsiung, we began the design and planning process. Each meeting sparked numerous ideas. To ensure that this place would be convenient for both humans and dogs, we conducted extensive research and gathered relevant information. Every aspect, from the overall design, circulation, colors, materials, to the smallest details, was carefully considered.
Dogs perceive colors primarily in shades of gray, yellow, and blue. Therefore, in the exterior design, we focused on modern aesthetics, incorporating protruding windows and transitional spaces. The entire building is shaped by multiple pentagons, symbolizing the concept of "home" and aiming to provide guests with a sense of warmth.
The main color for the exterior walls is gray, with accents of yellow. Yellow glass was used on various parts of the exterior railing to add lively touches. In the interior spaces, a large proportion of yellow and blue colors were employed for harmonization.
The floor plan includes two underground levels for parking, with the first underground level dedicated to a swimming pool where dogs and humans can play together. The pool's side is transparent, utilizing large areas of acrylic to allow for beautiful photos to be taken while dogs and their owners swim. After swimming, there is a self-service washing area where owners can bathe their beloved dogs. Alternatively, they can choose to visit the pet grooming area to have their pets pampered and groomed by professional stylists.
The first floor features a reception counter for guest check-ins, as well as a pet store. Shelves in the store are designed in the shape of cute animals, adding a touch of fun to the space. Here, guests can purchase dog food and supplies while enjoying a good view of dogs swimming in the pool below. The walls and ceilings are predominantly yellow and green.
The second floor is designed as a restaurant, creating a pet-friendly dining experience for both pets and their owners. It offers a selection of food for both humans and dogs. To ensure comfort for both, the restaurant design incorporates private booths and partitioned areas to maintain appropriate distances between large and small dogs. It also provides privacy. The overall space features vibrant colors and various types of bricks, with polished stone as the main flooring material.
The third floor is currently used as an office but will be transformed into a laboratory in the future. It will offer special courses, lectures, and hands-on experiences to provide guests with unique and enjoyable activities.
Floors four to six are designated for accommodation. The rooms are divided into nine different styles, each inspired by the origin and personality stories of nine dog breeds. Each room has its own enclosed balcony and washing area, allowing dogs to be easily cared for even when it's sunny or raining. Furthermore, each room has a foyer and an additional door to prevent dogs from scattering luggage or items, as well as to provide soundproofing.
In terms of material selection, special attention is given to the flooring, utilizing materials such as vintage bricks or wood-patterned tiles that are easy to clean. The sofas and curtains are also made from cat-scratch fabric, which not only facilitates cleaning but also minimizes odor retention and bacterial buildup. Additionally, these materials are less prone to damage.
In Taiwan, when people go on business trips or vacations, they usually leave their dogs at pet hotels. Sometimes dogs may not adapt well, and owners may worry about their beloved pets. However, at Duoyele, you can bring your dogs to dine, stay, get grooming services, and swim. Here, you can fulfill all your needs and enjoy joyful moments with your furry companions.
This is a project fueled by dreams. We listen attentively to the needs of the clients, aiming to meet the users' requirements as much as possible, from the architecture to the interior design. With empathy and love, we strive to create their dream kingdom, while also building a dreamland for pets.
