The former WestLB building from the 1970s of architect Prof. Harald Deilmann was put under conservation of monuments and historic buildings. The facade which is marked by bronze-coloured aluminium surfaces, golden-vaporized solar protection glasses and white concrete balustrades must be preserved. This building is in the centre, directly between railway station and Westenhellweg. In addition, through the new boulevard Kampstrasse and the shopping centre Thier-Gallery the quartier finds out a qualitative revaluation.
This building with a floor-space of approx. 21,800m² is converted to a modern and innovative medical centre and will be finished at the middle of 2014. The central situation and good transport links as well as 150 parking bays in the underground parking are ideal conditions for patient and staff. In the ground floor gastronomy and retail trades for medicine are settled, while in the upper floors medical offices of different academic disciplines are settled. The planning of this medical offices and the interior design of many rent areas has taken over the office archwerk.
