DM 35
HOUSE
Constructed in the post-revolutionary period, when the
new social and economic politics of the first revolutionary governments with
noticeable socialist tendency, were reflected in the Yucatan architecture
with nationalistic and regional tendencies
were sprouting and forming gaps and
continuities between the porfiriano regime and that one that was born with the
Mexican revolution.
The challenge in the project of House DM35 was to
conserve the spirit and the memory of the building. The proposal consisted in
integrating the specific functions of the new uses with the existing
architecture, taking care of the space character especially of residential
buildings, in order emphasize the
hierarchy in the interior and its relation with the outside.
The architecture of the landscape and outer areas arises
from multiple circular outlines, almost at random, creating a board where the
prismatic and rigid volumes become involved by curved and fluid forms, defining
and separating green areas, architectonic sculptured pavements and elements
that cover the needs of the life on the outside. A part of the old industrial
ship with lamina cover conserves and projects its shade on a part of the swimming pool and creates the perfect
frame for the murals created by the artist Michele Maggiora.
In synthesis in house DM 35 we found several signs of the
architectonic language with its respective function: terrace curved garden,
walls, zenith light, open stairs, sculptural elements, organic outlines, pure
lines, recycling, etc.
A place where the formal plasticity of the set and a
design articulated among them, manages to incorporate the active life of the city, an old building,
respecting essentially their high patrimonial value, and at the same time
equipping it perfectly to satisfy the needs of modern life. A design to enjoy
the benefits of the sky, the sun, the light, the shade and the lines.Interior Designer / Architects
