Occupied by an architect and a writer – practice principal Shaumyika Sharma herself and her husband – this condo unit inside a Zaha Hadid-designerd development was an opportunity for a creative interior design project. Gallery-white walls were the perfect backdrop for Sharma’s fine art photography, collage and painting. A Bauhaus-influenced composition of circular tables, geometric textiles, and mismatched iconic chairs occupies minimal visual space in the funnel-shaped living area, opening out to impressive views. Juxtaposed against colourful Indian textiles, an eclectic mix of modern Indonesian teak, contemporary European, and antique Chinese furniture reveal Sharma’s reverence for both the ancient and the avant-garde.
