Located in the heart of Al Narjis, North Riyadh, Dium stands as a bold architectural statement that fuses local identity with a contemporary spirit.
The façade is composed of powerful, balanced masses, defined by the interplay of vertical and horizontal elements. Clad in warm golden sandstone, the structure draws inspiration from traditional Najdi architecture, reinterpreted through a modern lens.
Bright white volumes emerge sculpturally from the façade, creating a striking contrast and dynamic shadow play that shifts throughout the day. Black framing elements around the entrances and windows add visual depth and accentuate the architectural details with strong contrast.
The limited openings and deep shadows reflect a design philosophy centered on privacy and inward focus, while the scattered arrangement of desert plants softens the overall composition and anchors the building in its local context.
Dium is more than a building — it’s a sensory experience that captures the essence of heritage, shadow, and form in a modern architectural expression.
