In keeping with the architect’s concept the lobby interior was designed to reflect the local surroundings while paying homage to the textile industry. Flowing water informed the terrazzo floor, red earth and cool blue toned walls compliment the emphatic dark ceiling that alludes to the night sky. All work together to create an exciting and stimulating entrance to the sophisticated palette of the auditorium space. Freespace Design was also asked to create an art piece for the Lobby space. This has taken the form of a large 3-dimensional photography based installation reflecting the historical significance of the area and it’s place in contemporary society. Installation scheduled for Feb 2011.
