On April 2016, the first Dispensa Emilia restaurant designed by Area-17 opened in an exceptional location: Il Centro, a brand new shopping mall built on the area of the former Alfa Romeo factory and one of the biggest malls in Europe. Dispensa Emilia is a modern take on the traditional tigelleria Emiliana. Quality is paramount in the new restaurant: quality of products and quality of design. The interiors, contemporary and functional, develop around a central island, where food is prepared in open view.
A rich color and material palette together with the strong presence of the shelves merchandized with their own branded products creates a welcoming and familiar atmosphere, which has always been one of the brand’s hallmarks. Among the custom-made furnishings, the lamps specifically designed by Area-17 on this occasion for Martinelli Luce have already been included in their new catalogue.
Above all, the new restaurant by Dispensa Emilia tells a beautiful story about Italian excellence and tradition. The Ferrari themed gallery wall establishes a direct connection with the other leading light of Emilia, intertwining present with past, and innovation with tradition.
But yet another thread links Arese with Modena: Enzo Ferrari was a racing driver precisely for Alfa Romeo, before becoming the father of the legendary red sport-cars. Whoever sits in front of the gallery wall cannot help but dreaming of other times and other spaces, where the excellence of the Made in Italy is rooted.
