Dine Art is where art and fine cooking merge to create the perfect union of sensory experiences. The restaurant is located on the 16th floor of the Kwai Bo industrial building, at the heart of the popular Wong Chunk Hang (Aberdeen) neighborhood in Hong Kong. Here art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and multi-functional spaces have been breathing new life into the former industrial volumes.
Within the stunning 400 sqm display of Art Lease art gallery, chef Cosimo Taddei serves fine Italian food in a classy yet casual environment. Area-17 designed the dining area to foster an almost intimate relationship between clients and works of art. The raw metal kitchen opens on the dining area, conveying the idea of functionality. The metal mesh bar counter and vintage leather stools act like a filter between the two environments. The essential and still rich furnishing in the dining area serves its purpose without interfering with the real protagonists of the design: food and art. Set apart from the main dining area, the cosy lounge furnished with leather sofas and kilim rugs offers an intimate escape for a drink or a relaxed conversation.
Each piece of furniture has been carefully selected: the giant gong, the vintage desk and chairs are from the owner private collection. Upholstery, bar stools, and lamps are the result of a patient and long research throughout Honk Kong vintage markets. The vibrant mix of elements and styles does not alter the industrial character of the space. Indeed, it makes for a personal and warm environment, where each part tells a different story.
