The renovation of the father's old gable house, which is more than 25 years old, to be the new home for his daughter who loves colors and bright inspiration. The architect intends to conserve the spirit of the original house as much as possible, such as the wooden floor, and shapes of the space, under the condition of a rather limited construction budget.
The original house was built by the father who loved art, whether the selection of old wood materials, the layout of the house, or the design of the gable roof which is especially attractive. Therefore, surveying and measuring this house in the most detail is the heart of the design of this project.
Exterior - The architect chose to re-design the house by mainly painting it in bright colors to reflect the identity of the new owner, as well as creating a new atmosphere for the neighborhood by using painting rhythms, making the gable stand out by using green. The new entrance door is painted yellow and red to contrast each other.
1st floor - When entering the house, you will find a parking space for 1 car with a small garden and a porch. Entering the house through the door, the hall with a dining area, kitchen, living room, and staircase appeared in the same location. A temporary storage platform is attached to the original staircase, and a pipe railing is designed for hanging various items in this area. This hanging railing is the actual feature staircase railing of the house.
2nd Floor - Going up the stairs to the 2nd floor, a large open space appears. The architect intentionally removed almost all of the original partitions on this floor to create a new connected space, to a living room and a multipurpose area for family and visitors. There is also a guest bedroom at the back of the floor.
3rd Floor Under the Gable Roof - This floor was designed to be a private area for the owner, consisting of a dressing room with plywood built-in combination with a steel pipe, and a master bedroom connected to an en suite bathroom. This master bedroom has an original gable ceiling structure, so the architect chose to install plywood ceiling panels along the gable to create a warm atmosphere and a sense of a Western style. In addition, the lights are controlled to prevent excessive brightness and provide a comfortable feeling.
