Built around 1900 this valley station of the Dietschiberg railway is a relict of from the times when tourism began making the hills around Lucerne accessible for tourists. The station is – together with a gate keeper house, an old villa and magnificent trees – the beginning of the villa quarters „Bellerive“. Transforming the station to to a residential building preserves the house for the next generation. In memories of its former use and the shiny aluminum carriages that rolled up the hill a silvery sleeping car now stands in the station. It contains a kitchen, a bathroom and sleeping rooms. The station itself, the room around the car, is the living room. The original design of the station by Emil Vogt included a flat roof with a balustrade; while it was not built then it is built now and gives the residents a roof terrace with a stunning view upon the lake and the alps. A small but poetic garden surrounds the house, including a flower bed placed on the former rail tracks.
