The Dictionary of Received Ideas identifies architectural received ideas - things that were first proposed as a solution to a problem, but then repeated when the problem was no longer present, depleating the move of meaning.
Using the dictionary as a design device precludes pre-conceived ideas. A new meaning and concept is found in the process, one that most likely has not been anticipated.
From that moment, the received idea is no longer important - it is removed as a scaffold for the design process.Critic: Enrique WalkerStudio partners: Belen Gandara, Tanita Choudhury, Giovanni Fruttaldo
