MR. RAJAN DHINGRA’S OFFICE
Design Intent and Inspiration
The office is designed as a modern executive workspace that communicates clarity, authority, and calmness that intent to create an open yet composed environment where natural light, visual continuity, and subtle curves soften the overall formal character of the corporate office, while making it a welcoming space without compromising working atmosphere. Conceptualized around a subtle jazz theme, the interiors balance warmth and visual richness with a refined and professional corporate essence.
Key Architectural and Interior Features
The layout is organized into clearly defined zones for reception, waiting, executive use, and meetings, ensuring smooth movement and functional efficiency. Full-height glazing enhances daylight penetration and visual openness, while sculptural elements such as the reception desk, lounge seating, and statement lighting establish strong focal points. The jazz-inspired approach is reflected in the use of fluid furniture forms, layered lighting, and curated fixtures that introduce visual rhythm and a sense of movement. Warm cove lighting integrated into the ceiling ensures visual comfort throughout the space.
Unique Materials and Technologies Used
Dark marble flooring with natural gold veining provides a strong, grounding base to the interiors. Lighting integrated within custom-designed furniture and shelving enhances both function and aesthetics. Statement lighting fixtures, selected for their sculptural quality, subtle references the elegance and infusing into the nature of jazz rhythm, acting as both expressive and persuasive elements which enhances the spatial experiences.
Sustainability Aspects
The extensive use of glazing maximizes natural daylight, reducing dependence on artificial lighting during the day. Energy-efficient LED lighting is used across the office, and durable, low-maintenance materials were selected to ensure long-term performance and reduced replacement over time.
Challenges and How They Were Addressed
Maintaining privacy within an open-plan environment was addressed through spatial zoning and the use of frosted glass instead of solid partitions. Glare from large glazed surfaces was controlled through warm lighting and non-reflective finishes. Balancing a thematic interior language with professional restraint was achieved by keeping the jazz influence subtle and abstract, expressed through materials, furniture, and lighting rather than overt decorative elements, ensuring visual balance without clutter.
