This plot was the result of the courtland house redesign. It is a corner plot and wedged shaped. The levels fall significantly lower than the adjacent properties. The new owner engaged our services and requested that we maximise the avilable floor space for the site. They also requested that materials matched courtland house in order to provide some harmony, but the house should have a more contemporary feel.Due to the change in levels it became apparent to us very quickly that a three storey property would be achievable. The main living accommodation would then be on the middle floor. By creating a traditional form over three stories, we were then able to maximise the glazing to the living areas and follow this concept through upto underside of the gable end, resulting in a very distinctive dwelling.
