Project Detail
Steel fabrication, engineering and erection unit for a construction and mining industry approached us for detailing and development of constructible 3D models for an immigration detention centre in New South Wales, Australia.
The centre consisted of several different units such as the administration dept. building, sports and health complex, community building, facility management building, interviews & visit building, walkways connected to all these buildings.
Challenges
The inputs received from the client were not of the best quality. A lot of information regarding the levels, connections etc was missing in the drawings.
Line drawings – and that too without top of steel levels – were given as inputs instead of providing actual members.
Determining the levels and the connections of steel members and do it in TEKLA model in given time frame.
Lot of RFIs was the need of the hour to get accurate information form the client.
Engineering Solution
To make the execution smoother three detailers along with a Team Lead were deployed onsite to make production faster and smoother.
Incorporated design and detail revisions for all buildings as suggested by the architects and structural engineers, with minimal response time.
Industry bench-marked QC systems were followed along with check lists and standards provided by the client.
Benefits
Project was successfully completed within the given timeline in order to help the customer proceed with the fabrication.
It helped the customer meet the deadlines within the given budget and maintaining the reputation in the Australian market
