This 18,000 square foot fit out is for DevaCurl, the hair care products brand. This space is located on three contiguous floors of 75 Spring Street. This nine story landmarked brick structure was built in 1900 and is located in the heart of the SoHo Historical Cast Iron District. This renovation will house the North American headquarters of DevaCurl, which is now part of the Henkel family of beauty care.
The SuperCurl desk was designed for DevaCurl to bring about face to face collaboration, breaking down the walls of the traditional workspace, by creating a continuous non-hierarchical seating arrangement. All teams are seated at the curl, including the executive team to allow for cross-team collaboration and communication.
Given the open concept of the SuperCurl Desk, found in various configurations across the three floors of the landmarked Soho cast iron building, it became important to balance areas of quiet focused work, and collaboration. Meeting rooms of various sizes across all three floors allow for teams to meet casually throughout the day. The two quiet rooms have green wall installations, and were designed to be areas of refuge and reflection to contrast the open office collaboration of the SuperCurl.
The three floors are connected by an open tread stair, encouraging movement between the three floors. The public event and mingling space is found on the middle floor-- allowing for equal access to the centrally located cafe and Town Hall gathering space. The Town Hall is comprised of stepped seating to allow for company-wide meetings and info sessions.
