Design key element has been the Teheran light that creates contrast and enphatized natural colors; this particularity is caused by altitude, location and Alborz setting.
The light interaction with the building has been the tread of the whole designing and has led to create an humoral sign that plays with light itself.
Plot area occupies a part of a block near the longest and busiest Teheran street; data project are minimal, we do not know the surrounding buildings heights and streets levels, neither the primary function, therefore it was decided to design a building with a interspace on the adjoining buildings sides.
The main facade shape origin is due to the observation of the grater variety of shades and reflection that a multi-face surface offers than a flat one; at the same time we’ve decided to increase this effect with an envelopement treatment that support the change and takes different apparance according to atmosferical conditon; but even if the façade is reflecting it’s not transpared or mirrored but realized with concrete, a material thet separate physically and emotionally the building from the chaotic and polluted Valiasr.
The facade is opposed plastically to the other three sides of the building which are ethereal and light; the total volume is thus a glass prism with a face carved in stone.
The interior design is oriented towards the highest degree of flexibility that allows a mixed use of the office space.
The building uses natural and hybrid ventilation that gets inspiration from the iranian windcatcher. An underground tank provides to the rainwater storage.
The dialogue with Teheran is guaranteed by the facade surface realized in polished concrete further treated by atmosferic pressure plasma to increase surface tension in order to extend water and snow persistence on the wall itself (wall wetting).
