This is a proposal for 32 bioclimatic houses for the social housing organism of Greece.We were asked to produce a relatively low budget community of bioclimatic houses, on social community principles, bioclimatic-ecological principles, well organized arrivals,entrances and circulation, well adapted in the urban scale masterplan , with architectural qualities and handicapped persons standards for the ground floor houses.The basic design parameters we followed were accordingly..1.An organic bio climatic approach,for the residential typology, which takes advantage of living spaces orientation as well as the management of closed and open spaces, with transitions of semi-open spaces wherever needed (see sun-shading-diagrams)We created thus multiple facade planes which create a multiple shading quality for the living spaces while supporting successfully in the architectural quality of the whole.2.The adaptation of the synthesis in the urban tissue,offering various possibilities for the organic connection of the small housing community with future expansions.3.A functional management of various relations, like the relation of open and closed spaces, private and public spaces and the correspondent social dimensions that occur.4.The creation of a fully functional community area for the handicapped persons and of fully functional houses situated on the ground floor level.5. Plantation obtains an important role in the design of the community as trees can contribute to the shading during summer whilst during winter trees losing leaves are situated in the southern facedes,trees not losing leaves are situated in northern areas for wind protection.The most interesting element of this proposal is the creation of a typology complexity, which is the result of two elementsa.Bioclimatic design for all the houses and minimized needs in heating systems thus.b.Preservation of the urban quality of the synthesis, which is always synonymous to adaptations to the perigrams of the urban block.So the basic type (A) in order to adjust to the urban block keeping its relation to the sun turned with a SE angle. Typology here is produced by the very characteristics of the specific site!The complexity that is assimulated is an instrument for the creation of a unique architectural experience ..
