"desa&co" is Zemitani Deer Farm first permanent specialty meat shop in Riga for selling venison and other wild meat products. The farm is located 125 km from the capital and the animals are raised in organic, free-range conditions. The meat products offered in the store are made at farm butchery with the utmost care and
attention to detail and quality. As a small embassy of the farm in the city, the store design had to follow the the same rigorous approach. The design proposal included a complete set - from interior and graphic design (sign, product labels, cards) to the staff clothing and marketing event production. The Latvian country side becomes the inspiration for materiality within the urban interior with contemporary details and clean lines. Weathered wood from old barns, polished dark wood of farmhouse furniture and stainless steel found in industrial farm machinery, all combine to inspire a rich and purposeful interior environment. The space is organized into two major zones, the delicatessen (display of sausages, salamis, smoked and fresh meats and other products) and the bistro or dining area , with an open kitchen acting as a hinge encouraging interaction between the customer's dining and shopping experience.
