The creation of atmospheres that are suitable for every space, enhancing the harmony that integrates the entire project, is the guiding principle that defines the project done by ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea for this apartment in Mexico City. Its privileged location provides, beside the fantastic views, a pleasant surrounding suitable to integrate the outdoors to the interior project.
From the entrance, the open spaces and generous double height of the public areas are distinguished in an elegant and contemporary ambiance that goes through the living room, dinette and dining room delimited by the main corridor and the large window that separates the interior from the terrace. The materials that stand out are wood and marble, that beside integrating to the rest of the spaces, define the natural colors palette that highlights the quality of the materials. In some areas some accents were marked with walls painted in dark colors and the same effect was applied to some wood coverings keeping the earth colors.
A wood cover conceals the door to the services area and its location allows the correct attention to both the public and private areas. The family room is a transition space and the lighting design for this space was very important to make sure all the activities were enjoyed. The toy library is next to this space and has sliding doors that allow integrating or separating it from the family room according to the activities of the family´s youngest ones.
The hallway that leads to the private area, where the 3 bedroom are located, has a natural walnut wood cover, a big volume in a light color that contrasts with the dark wood of the corridor´s floor. The master bedroom has a small private terrace, bathroom and a generous dressing room. The two secondary bedrooms also have bathroom and dressing rooms. For the bathrooms granite and marble were used. For the whole house, custom designed and made furniture as well as from important Italian brands were used. The natural color palette plays with the dark color accents that were selected to integrate the inhabitants personality in each space.
