Degree Lighting Store: Front Reception by Nutthawut Piriyaprakob of Thailand-based NPDA Studio, symbolizes a show case of the re-branding of the shop that completely transformed the store from a traditional Thai lighting store named “Sang-Pairoj Lighting” into a modern, hip lighting store named “ Degree ”.
As the word “Degree” can have various meanings such as quantity, extend, temperature count and etc. The owner of the store came up with the motto for the brand as “Light Up Your Passion”
The idea of red & white color code of the place is not only to keep the concept of the original logo which is a white sun with sun ray all around but also to add the fun, the new charming, fashionable feeling and the excitement to the brand image.
Each block on the wall is to imitate the fragment of crystal. The multiple angles in each block are to symbolize the sparkling of the crystal chandeliers, the feature products of the store. Technically, all unique pieces are generated from each axis to an origin point three dimensionally which is the same as the sun ray all around the sun in the original logo but that was in two dimensions.
The bright and fun effect of the red funky wall is generated by the hitting of the light. The wall structure creates the deeper illusion feeling of the wall when we look into the building.
The curvy and blob shape of all furniture is created to contrast with all straight patterns on the background wall.
