Our proposal focuses on the allegorical relation and
connection between the new face of the cinema and the concept of motion via
frames of a film tape. This can be feasible by taking advantage of the large
changes of the temperature of the outside area and designing strips in the face
which can bend when temperature changes. Each strip consists of a unit made
with aluminum, which contracts and expands according to the temperature and
blend invar. These two different types of metal react as bimetal plate. The change of each unit of the strips creates
a movement to the whole building. Also, the new face has no symmetry as we
emphasize on the different accesses to the building. As a result, the building
itself becomes a subject of observation from the Pushkinsky square. The
materials used to the building, except the aluminum and the blend invar, are DuPont
centri-glass for the glass walls and corian for the pillars and additional
elements of the building.
