The new Decovita store in Etiler, Istanbul, one of Turkey's youngest porcelain ceramic tile brands has collaborated with Yelin Evcen and Gönül Ardal, founders of the Istanbul-based interior architectural firm Gonye Design to offer users a surprising and functional space experience. The theme of the design represents the brand story and corporate culture of the company, which they have been providing product and brand design consultancy for a while, with the slogan "from roots to future".
The ground floor of the store was designed as an installation space that offers visitors an experience of the spirit and aesthetic potential of ceramic material, rather than a classical showroom understanding. Amorphous and curvilinear forms were frequently preferred on the floor, where porcelain ceramic tiles were used in combination with different objects and styles to transform the space into an exhibition area. In this area, a fluid effect was created in the space with different separators designed to continue the visual effect uninterruptedly throughout the space.
In the basement, which has a very large and surprising layout, the general fiction is planned on three main circulation lines, the main axis of which consists of an arched exhibition area. In the first axis, the sections that present sections of the spaces decorated as bathrooms, kitchens, courtyards and living spaces, emphasizing the various uses of ceramic material, are separated from each other and from the corridor by arches. While each space reflects today's modern style, accessories and graphics provide visitors with small information about the use of these spaces in Anatolian civilizations, building a contemporary bridge from the past to the present.
The central axis of the store is designed in the style of a vaulted gallery where each ceramic is displayed like a work of art. The lobby & bar, planned as a focal point at the end of the exhibition axis created with details that emphasize the importance that the ceramic brand attaches to design and quality, was considered as the socialization area of the space.
Another customized part of the store is the special working and gathering areas that will allow the store's professional visitors such as architects, interior designers and designers to work comfortably. In these areas, a sample corner, bookshelf and screen for the use of designers have been specially designed for the space.
Designed by the Gönye Design team with an experience-oriented approach that goes beyond just a product selection area, the store is designed as an experience center that evaluates all the places where we live our daily lives from past to present and interprets them in a contemporary style and inspires visitors to create the spaces of their dreams.
The common feature of all the spaces planned within the general concept of the store is that the texture of the past is designed by establishing a cultural connection with the lines of today, and this connection is felt at every point from the graphics throughout the store to the spatial partitions and furniture details.
