Decker House is a second home located in Brisas del Paraiso, Costa Rica. It is situated on a hill that faces the Pacific Ocean and some rice fields (North and West) and a tropical forest (South and East). The amazing views set the orientation of the project. With few exceptions, each space within the house faces both landscapes, which creates wonderful contrasts and lights the house naturally throughout the day. The structure consists of four concrete prisms, each of different dimensions and height. One of the volumes runs horizontally, and is supported by a steel beam that creates a 9 meter span that shapes the open area near the pool, which faces the beach and forest, integrating these two amazing views. This open area is a transition between the interior and the exterior and constitutes the heart of the house, merging indoor and outdoor social areas.
