The existing building of De Zeven Gaven with its façade in the Potterierei consists of a historic main volume: a concatenation of seven gables. The backside of this volume has repeatedly been rebuilt throughout the years so the elegance and strength of the volume have been 'maimed'.
Our intention was to completely purify and restore, the transverse volumes were to be scrapped.
Two new volumes will be built: archetype volumes with a saddle roof.
We also made a reference is made to the materials that were used in the adjacent building " NAH De Nieuwe Notelaar" to which a bridging forms a physical connection, and enhances the operation for both entities.
Living in its historical context forms a key addition to the Potterie site right in between the historical church and seminary church with a special focus on existing architectural elements.
