Dayton Children’s engaged FKP to create a facilities master plan to support the system-wide, strategic vision called Destination 2020. Through engagement of physicians and hospital leadership, a phased approach is being developed supporting Dayton Children’s vision. The first phase in the renewal of the main campus includes replacement of their aging bed tower, data center and power plant plus demolition of two existing structures. Future phases will accommodate new diagnostics, critical care and acute care services in “just in time” stages.
FKP was engaged to design the eight-story bed tower as part of Phase I. The building will provide shell space for phased implementation and buildout of a new NICU Hematology/Oncology center, food service and kitchen and public lobby with improved wayfinding and public experience.
