A vacant industrial building located adjacent to a runway at Teterboro Airport has been transformed into the North American Headquarters of Dassault Falcon Jet Corporation.
A new atrium and second floor incorporating structural ‘wing’ struts were added, allowing much needed light into the otherwise windowless interior. The two-story atrium is also an important organizing element in that the three main components of the business (parts distribution, customer service and administration) are all visibly expressed around the atrium’s glass walls.
All architectural finish materials used throughout the building are similar to those found in the manufacture of the company’s aircraft, thus reinforcing an image of luxury and flight.
