Extensions to Wallberg House, Opening 2010
The official launch marks not only the reopening of the four-star Superior
House in new splendor: it also celebrates the new name and spirit of the
building. It is the result of a consequential development and the enthusiasm of
an individual, high-quality lifestyle, thrilling both regular guests and a new,
design-minded target group. Set in a 42 hectare park landscape on an attractive
south-facing slope, the building ensemble offers a view across the lake to the Wallberg
and the Tegernsee Alps.
The ensemble consists of the listed Sengerschloss from 1840 and the
guesthouses Quirin, Tegernsee and Wallberg. DAS TEGERNSEE combines living
values and modernity and implements the best of contemporary architecture. The
aim is to pamper guests with a feel-good atmosphere and at the same time with a
restrained, purist design take account of the requirements of the modern zeitgeist.
The residential concept provides clear references to the atmospheric material and
form language of modern alpine architecture. A conscious effort was made to use
local and traditional materials and process them according to the latest
standards. Guests should be able to feel where they are. 37 double rooms in
purist design, a 1,400 square meter spa for holistic beauty treatment, and a high-tech
conference center for up to 420 persons introduce a new era.
“With its name, DAS TEGERNSEE places a whole region at the center, and
expresses the deep ties of the Tegernsee valley,” said hotel director Peter
Kahl at the opening.
