The Dante House is half-buried on one side of the plot and its L-shaped plan creates a garden that is open to a vegetated area where the bedrooms are open to. Its exposed concrete roof is made up of a sequence of five parallel beams, while its three central beams “hang” from other three inverted transverse beams. This structural set supports the roof slabs at different levels over the social and service areas of the house, leaving gaps for natural light and ventilation. The bedrooms are accessed via a corridor under a large skylight.
