I designed this 2800 s.f. custom home for Brad and Misty Danielson in Lakeway. Although the lot was a fairly typical Lakeway lot, the views that the Danielsons wanted to take advantage of were at an angle. So therefore the floor plan reflected that.
The angle also allowed us to have a 2-car garage on one side, and 1-car garage as well as a golf-cart garage on the other side of a motor court.
With the angle we were able to create a great outdoor living and pool retreat in the backyard, while saving the wonderful live oaks, and maintaining the views.
Throughout the house, Misty and their designer did a wonderful job with the interior design and selections. The Hill Country Craftsman style home allowed them to design a livable and warm home, yet clean and contemporary. Design details included the free standing pedestal tub, and open shelving for towels in the master bath.
The Living, Dining, and Kitchen are all incorporated in one open Great Room concept, with easy access to the outdoor living space as well as the rest of the home. In the Great Room, details included the vaulted ceiling with beams, and the stone surround of the fireplace.
The large island is showcased as a furniture piece. And the farm sink, designer ovens and custom built plaster and wood vent-hood accent the warmth of the room. In the Kitchen, high windows above the cabinets at the front of the house bring in natural lighting as well as the big window over the kitchen sink.
