Architect Daniel Libeskind commissioned Tronic to create a brand film to
highlight his conceptual approach to his design of a large scale
building in Abu Dhabi. The film also provided insight into the history
and culture of Abu Dhabi. Tronic directed a green screen shoot of
Libeskind and composited his footage with animated visuals that brought
his words and building to life.Visually portraying
abstract concepts is tricky. Daniel Libeskind is one of the most forward
thinking and cutting edge architects today and making his elaborate
vision accessible to the general public is an even greater feat. To
breath life into his narrative Tronic decided to film Libeskind against
a green screen describing his vision of the future of Abu Dhabi. His
enthusiastic descriptions and hand gestures are brought to life on screen
using sophisticated CG imagery. As Libeskind talks about the history
of architecture, great projects from the past appear at the tips of
his fingers. He seems to manipulate these apparitions with his hands,
causing them to appear and dissolve as the interview moves from concept
to concept.Libeskind's conception
of the HCT Innovation City is expertly animated in front of him on a
sort of virtual plane that he manipulates using gestures, with the main
crescent-shaped building at its center. Libeskind seamlessly rotates
the plane as he explains the radical form of the building which draws
upon the history and culture of the Emirates and wraps it in a sleek
futuristic facade designed to invoke the most up to date technologies
and sustainability methods.Click to see it in action: Daniel Libeskind: Abu Dubai
