Dana-Farber Chestnut Hill is a major expansion of clinical space from the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care in Longwood, with a goal to increase their capacity for oncology exam, treatment and imaging for most adult disease centers by 40%. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s goal was to establish and expand their identity, yet ensure a continuity of patient experience across multiple sites. The Chestnut Hill project reinforces the mission, values and essential patient and staff experience in a healing, respectful and safe environment.
The project was faced with overlapping challenges of maintaining and defining the next generation of their institutional identity, inserting technically challenging imaging equipment and USP-800-compliant pharmacies into the 140,000 SF leased tenant space, and providing a warm and welcoming state-of-the-art imaging and medical oncology center in a former shopping mall building.
