As part of the urban regeneration project for the main market,Lahore a key issue that required attention was the co-existence of vehicular traffic, pedestrian walkways and parking on the same level. This resulted in severe traffic congestion and a shortage of parking spaces. To alleviate these challenges, my design proposed a three-level system that segregated traffic to the basement, increased parking capacity and created a pedestrian-friendly ground level. Additionally, the first floor level was dedicated to a public park, which further contributed to the overall livability of the space. By implementing this design, the traffic congestion and parking shortage were mitigated, and pedestrians were able to move about freely without worrying about vehicular traffic.
