By
elevating the library, large parts of the site is kept open and
accessible as public space. The set back of the ground floor diffuses
the building envelope and connects it to the surrounding public
space. The elevated library offers views over roof tops, tree crowns
and the surrounding skyline. The abdomen of the uplifted volume
constitutes a fifth facade, patterned with reflective tiles, making
the buildings interior it's main face. The architectural sensibility
elaborates thinness and thickness, contrasting and coupling up these
qualities creating material and spatial sensations.
