the project aims to generate an atmosphere - and therefore a universe - (not a shop) in this small 30 m2 shop in the centre of the city, whose deep, narrow, rectangular geometry must contain the elements of a jewellery shop ...
...the project represents a small black hole in the urban magma...
...the project takes up the archaic magical conception that surrounds the universe of jewellery, of the valuable, the unique and the strange...it proposes - as opposed to the usual grocery stores with shop windows full of jewellery - a setting in which the valuable pieces are exhibited as unique, exclusive, ...
... a mysterious, strange, ... hollow, weightless and at the same time oriental and baroque atmosphere is created...
...is created by means of a geometry that envelops like a chest, like a jewellery box, capable of housing with the delicacy and mystery required by the valuable, ...unique piece.
...it is intended that the access to this space and the search for the valuable object becomes a magical and attractive journey, crossing the threshold of the mysterious jewellery box... - it is no longer a question of going to buy jewellery... - on the one hand the access to a solemn act: the rite of searching for a small unknown treasure, hidden...! on the other hand, crossing the line that leads to the mysterious and magical....
...(there are theatrical resonances...some treatments of the bobbin are reminiscent of dark curtains..., the scenographic lighting which punctuates and accentuates exclusively)...
geometry: the box is formed by the twinning of 2 contrasting striated sections: the upper one dark, matt, light and vibrant... and the lower one silver, shiny, heavy and rigid.
the dark one is generated by an inverted asymmetrical U, which generates, in the manner of a vault, a striated section...thus forming the ceiling and the sides -asymmetrically- : it proposes a reading of a mysteriously folded pleated curtain-curtain...
...the other dihedral forms the floor and the side furnishings behind the central counter, forming an L-shaped L...it is generated as a folded surface, worn, shiny, deep,...
...a floating counter -almost on the axis- is the only object inside the box...its design recalls archaic objects -arches, altars,...- full of inscriptions,...in this case the inscriptions can be read by hand, they are tactile -braile- and provide clues to understand the world of goldsmithery and alchemy linked to this place...
...construction: the floor is made of thick sheets of metal: cast aluminium, with a large cut-out (.....) whose laborious working process, in order to obtain different castings -continuous stains and a single general design- through moulds that provide different textures, and therefore with different pieces, means imbibing the intended atmosphere, both in the result and in the process... closer to alchemy than to the usual construction systems.
