Internal remodelling of a one bed muse in a former Victorian carpet factory for a designer couple.
Surface texture – The clients, wanted to reveal some of the original material character of the old factory and, being keen chef’s who enjoy entertaining, wanted to be able to talk to guests in the living room whilst cooking. The ground floor plan was reconfigured to accommodate such and the walls were stripped of their plaster to expose the hue of the original brickwork. The rich texture of the old brick was offset by the extraordinary smoothness of a hand crafted white corian worktop which folds down and extends along the floor surface to define and distinguish the kitchen area from the living space.
