Gates were needed for this contemporary staircase as a safety feature for an infant just starting to walk. The clients sought a minimalist aesthetic as well as a solution which could easily be removed at a future time.
The upper gate hinges clamp onto the permanently fixed glass rail. Backing off four screws allows the hinge to be removed with no indication it was ever there.
The lower gate hinges affix to the underside of the structural stair treads. All screw attachments are concealed, i.e. removal of hinges will leave no visible traces.
