CUOI Playground is a youth activity center in Thu Dau Mot City, 60 minutes north of Ho Chi Minh city. The project is a collaboration between us and artist Liar Ben, and was built entirely from scaffolding and light industrial - recycled panels in 1 month. This place will host sub-cultural/underground activities such as hip hop festivals, flea markets, street food & sports.
This project is located in an old residential area in the central ward of Phu Hoa and right opposite Thu Dau Mot University. The investor, from private capital, had a great idea when he wanted to renovate and refurbish this entire alley 172 Tran Van On. This place originally had many spontaneous student dormitories, but was extremely lacking in amenities to serve the young people. Cuoi Playground is the most important project in a series of projects, scattered throughout the neighborhood including: coffee shops, bars and restaurants, fashion and lifestyle stores, accommodation and creative spaces for artists, public toilets, shared workspaces, exhibition rooms and tropical gardens - relaxation ...
The project has 2 floors providing a capacity of up to 300-500 people working at the same time and with many complex - interwoven functions. The investor's desire is for a structure that is field-based but attractive and stimulates spontaneous connections. The structure was an attraction for both residents and children in the area. It has evolved to become a community center for the neighborhood.
