At the dawn of the millennium, the former upper secondary school from the late 19th century had been first reorganised into a media library. With this second renovation, it has been transformed into a cultural centre.
The media library has been redesigned and enlarged, and the thermal comfort and light supply have been improved.
The roof and the last floor of the former upper secondary school administration building were removed to accommodate a 220-seat theatre. The room was inserted into the resulting volume, concealing the windows of the last two levels and allowing the rib to exceed by 4 metres. The cladding that envelops it is the support of a work created by the artist Alain Clément, his dancing drawing signals with great joy the ongoing re-qualification of the city centre.
