The cube is the purest expression of the third dimension. A geometry that gives form to space itself. Cubicity celebrates this fundamental idea through a simple yet powerful composition, standing prominently in the heart of the city.
Constructed from ribbed aluminium panels containing 90% recycled content, the pavilion embraces the principles of the circular economy. Its temporary construction allows every component to be easily dismantled, repurposed, or recycled, ensuring that the pavilion continues its life beyond this installation.
Cubicity is conceived as an optical instrument that heightens our awareness of the surrounding landscape. A rhythmic array of aluminium fins dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, filtering light, framing views, and creating a constantly shifting visual experience. At its centre, a precisely proportioned void directs the visitor's gaze towards the Petronas Twin Towers, transforming an everyday view into a deliberate architectural moment.
Left in its natural state, the aluminium is neither painted nor coated. Its raw surface becomes a shimmering veil that reflects the ever-changing panorama of the park, allowing the pavilion to visually merge with its surroundings while celebrating the intrinsic beauty of the material itself.
As sunlight moves across the sky, shadows cast by the surrounding trees glide across the pavilion's surfaces. These subtle transformations remind us that architecture is not static, but exists in constant dialogue with light and time. In this way, Cubicity extends beyond the third dimension of space, inviting visitors to experience the fourth dimension, the quiet passage of time as an integral part of the architecture.
