It’s in a series of researches, by Idee architects, which help to find solutions to some housing problems in Vietnam include low-cost houses, floating houses at floods, prefabricated houses and narrow living space in urban.
Applied in Cubehouse #1 there are some of the solutions found out such as using light materials, prefabricated module, sun and noise protection, smart interior arrangement, solar energy and waste treatment system.
The simple cube module in prefabricated steel was quickly constructed, and separated from the lower roof by steel pillars. Besides, the architects used the uncomplicated outlines, the rich natural light and the connection between inside and outside.
A short staircase leads the lower roof to the drawing room of the department. From here there are entrances to bedroom, dining kitchen and bathroom.
The airy balcony gives a view of the busy street, whereas the yard in the middle of the house possesses the quiet space of the surrounding alley. These are typical spaces of Hanoi.
