The space was designed to accommodate a young IT-specialist with artistic mindset. He wanted the space to be optionally comfortable for a young couple too. The owner mostly works from home.
Our client felt in love with the 25th floor view of Odessa at first sight so it was important for us to preserve the visual connection with the outside at the very entrance of the apartment. We also wanted to keep the space open and light, while accommodating all the features of comfortable living. That’s why we avoided any partitions, only tidy toilet was hidden behind the walls.
As for the spacial configuration, we wanted to implement the idea of space in space by inserting a cubic volume inside the cubic space of the apartment itself. Functionally it contains bathroom facilities, storage and entrance area, as well as all the engineering and water communications in its lowered ceiling and raised flooring. The rest of the space includes only low and medium height objects so that visually space is not bothered - low kitchen cabinets, dining and living spread along the panoramic view windows. The bedroom is located in the corner and is functionally connected to the bath and the wardrobe. We also love to use home cinemas in our projects so that space doesn’t get overloaded with tv panel.
Our color palette was contrast dark grey and white or light grey with some intense red details, such as elegant small size kitchen tiles. In order to highlight the context we also left some concrete surfaces unfinished.
