Originally, the floor was divides in 6 isolated offices.
On the renovation, we tore down all the divisions, integrating the whole floor. With wider spaces, we took a chance to make the best out of the high ceiling space and the amazing Sao Palo view.
As soon as you exit the elevators in the glass hallway, you direct yourself to the reception area. On this facade we concentrated the waiting area, coffee break, lounge and study. On the floating metal and glass box, we have the administration offices that directly relate to the students downstairs. On the rest of the top floor we located administration, storage and technical areas, dividing its use from the regular users.
Our concept was to make the best of the metal structure, the high ceiling and view. That’s the reason we painted the walls black (so the view would pop out) and had few walls, so it all is integrated.
The classrooms occupy the sides and back facade and 5 of them can be integrated into a double and triple classroom.
The material choices were made to reinforce the raw look and organizing each volume. The choice of the strong bright green came as a counterpoint to the dark and gray industrial materials, bringing a pop of color and personality. The color pallet and materials also appear in the classrooms.
