The sketch-project of the hotel "Crystal Palace" in the center of Lviv (on the site of the "Dobrobut" bazaar).
The project is conceptual, the study is sketching, because it was made in two weeks from pencil sketches to visualization and a standard set of drawings (I do not publish them here). The main aesthetic task is to harmoniously fit into the environment (the historical center of Lviv), to combine respectfully the styles of eclectic classicistic residential buildings, several of the most characteristic secession buildings nearby and, of course, the baroque and secession Opera theater, but at the same time create a memorable, attractive hotel complex with a covered park zone, which would become a noticeable and "native" element of a characteristic silhouette of the city. The main innovative paradigm of the project is to appeal to the principles of "green" architecture: the greenhouse around the hotel is called upon not only to create a paradise atmosphere for guests and visitors (the territory provides for art spaces to create and implement art, exhibition areas, etc.) and serve as recreational lungs city center. The glazed territory characteristic of Lviv (recall the Lviv passages) is also an effective means of natural heating of the hotel. I sincerely hope that Sigmund Gorgolevsky (author of the Opera theater) would not be in a claim for the obvious non -state displacement of the symbol of Lviv’s art, because people of art of his level are usually higher than jealousy.
