It is a big challenge for the designer to design a house with many functions for a young family with kids when the house is located on a non-square land with a relatively small area.
To solve the disadvantage of the land, we put greenery area and waterfalls into the diagonal corners of the construction. Functional spaces are arranged square and connected to each other so that we can maximize the use of natural light for the first floor. The contiguous side to the walkway of the construction is arranged with a green area & waterfall to make wall-like. The highlight of the house is CNC-cut corrugated iron sheets to make walls, fences surrounding the house so that we can make the use of the effect of dawn light in the morning as well as the effect of electric lights in the evening. These effects make the construction to access to nature in an indirect and interesting way, making the user have the feeling of immersing themselves in the green under the impact of light.
An area for whole family activities is centered on the second floor and by the lobby. And 3 bedrooms are arranged on the squared-shape area of this floor. Interleaved between these 3 bedrooms are skylights to provide ventilation for all the rooms. The slanting area in the master bedroom is designed to be a relaxing place within the very exciting effects of the sunlight when the dawn comes. The method of creating visual effects is also applied in the skylights with the corrugated iron leaves above. It makes every viewpoint of the house having a natural presence in different ways.
And the 3rd floor is for a working room, a worship room and a terrace with maximum visibility suitable for outdoor activities. The construction with slanted-shape blocks help regain the balance for the land. It minimizes the disadvantage of the land size & shape, increases the sense of balance and optimizes the interior space.
Every evening when the lights are on, the whole building is in harmony with nature even such a small greenery area is limited. It brings a lot of emotion and this is what we and the host look for. Light, wind, and technical elements have helped us to make it real.
